Victor J. Medina, managing attorney of Medina Law Group, devotes his practice to estate planning, helping parents and grandparents to leave their wealth to whom they want, when they want them to have it, and in the way they want. His clients include seniors, young families with minor children, families with special needs children of all ages, entrepreneurs with business considerations, and established families with dynasty goals. His philosophy of estate planning is based on a forward-thinking approach that focuses on passing on more than just financial wealth, but also spiritual, emotional, and intellectual values.

Victor is a former president of the American Association of Trust, Estate and Elder Law Attorneys (AATEELA) — an invitation-only, national organization of top practitioners — and is a member of the National Association of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA). Victor is also an active member of the legal community and is a former Vice-President of the Princeton Bar Association. He is a member of WealthCounsel, ElderCounsel and the Mercer County Estate Planning Council.

Victor is licensed to practice law in New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania, and is accredited by the Department of Veteran Affairs to assist veterans in filing claims.

Victor grew up in the Northeast and attended college and law school in Boston, MA. He lives in Pennington, NJ. Victor is married to Jennifer, a school psychologist in the New Jersey public schools, and has three sons, Aidan, Lucas, and Dylan.

Victor speaks frequently to public and private groups on issues of estate planning, elder law, veterans benefits, and special needs planning.

Susan Halem, Client Services Director

Susan is likely the first person you meet at Medina Law Group. She is responsible for organizing client meetings and is the primary contact for the firm. In addition to her duties as Client Services Director, Susan also assists Victor at Elder Law seminars.

As a social worker with a background in gerontology, Susan is able to provide seniors and the people who love them with thoughtful, experienced and empathetic guidance about the many issues and challenges associated with growing older. Susan enjoys working closely with our clients and helping them achieve the peace of mind that comes with having a well-designed plan in place for the future.

Susan earned her Bachelor of Science in Social Work from Florida State University in 1984. She is a Certified Trainer for the Pennsylvania Behavioral Health & Aging Coalition, a Certified Trainer in HIV/AIDS Prevention Education, and has received advanced training in the areas of diversity, public benefits, mental health, chemical dependency, and domestic violence.

Born and raised in Florida, Susan now resides in Yardley, Pennsylvania, which she enjoys most of the year but in February, not so much.

Julianna Maria, Director of Operations

Julianna’s role is to introduce the firm to the community at every level. Julianna develops relationships with the staffs and residents at care facilities, as well as with community groups. She is the key representative in the community, answering questions about estate planning strategies and life care planning.

Julianna graduated from Swarthmore College and worked in New Your City before settling in Hopewell valley with her husband, Steve and her two sons, Alex and Kyle, and daughter (expected October 2012).

Family has always been Julianna’s priority, and she calls on her personal experiences as a granddaughter, daughter, and mother of two to find solutions to the challenges of long-term disability and care in our clients’ lives.

Christina M. Forte, Director of Community Outreach

Christina brings a wealth of experience as a Community Liaison to Medina Law Group. She serves as the firm’s primary envoy to the community, developing strong relationships with staff members and residents at care facilities, working closely with community groups, and answering questions from the public about estate planning strategies and life care planning.

Christina earned her Bachelor of Science in Sociology, with Minors in Psychology and Faith-Justice, from Saint Joseph’s University. Over the years, she has devoted her time to numerous charitable organizations and associations, including Freshman Escape, Search, Native American Experience, Project Mexico, Project Appalachia, Urban Plunge, and Service Learning.

Janet Hansen – Senior Paralegal

Janet’s primary role with Medina Law Group is to assist with drafting legal documents and coordinating the probate and trust administration matters for clients.

Janet began her career on the trading floor with Lehman Brothers. She has also served as the Executive Director of a well-regarded cooperative nursery school in Princeton. Janet and her husband live in Montgomery Township with their three sons, Cole, Trevor, and Christopher.

Gustavo Margary – Benefits Coordinator

Gus helps coordinate our benefits applications and works with our clients to provide all of the document back-up to our clients’ applications. He comes to Medina Law Group with extensive client service experience and joins Victor to shore up the ranks of male Medina Law Group team members. In addition, when we assist clients with integrating their assets with their estate plan, Gus will help with those funding activities.
